Time is something we often waste and can never get back. This past weekend, we were rewarded with an additional hour of sleep due to Daylight Savings Time. What did you do with it? Did you stay up to midnight or later or did you go to bed earlier and take advantage of it? We often feel we are wasting time sitting in trafic or in the waiting room of a doctor's office or the waiting room of a surgical pavilion. Most people are not patient. They want what they want and they want it now.
This week, take some "time" -- there's that word against to evaluate where your time goes. We often say or hear people say, "Well, where did all the time go?" Time is fixed, linear and constant. We cannot slow it down nor speed it up. God has given each us so much time on this earth to live for His glory and when our time is up, we die. Ecclesisastes 3:1-8 says, "For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. (2) A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. (3) A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. (4) A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. (5) A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. (6) A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away.(7) A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak. (8) A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace" (NLT).
Ask yourself these questions: (1) What can I do to not procrastinate? (2) When was a time I managed my time wisely and how did I do it? (3) When considering a task, ask others who have done something similar, "In your experience, how long did this take you and why?" Years ago I learned this little catchphrase from a man who seemed to get more done in a day than most people in a week. Here is what he said: "I learned to utlilize the minutes because the hours never came." Great thought. How can you utlilize more minutes to be more productive for Jesus Christ. Have a great "time" this week.
Love you, Pastor Kelly
